Civil Records Department
 
The Civil Department is divided into two sections:
 
   
Civil Records Department – maintains all Civil and Probate records. 
 
Civil Processing Department– files all Civil Suits, including Probate (Succession) petitions, various pleadings and issues notices.  This department also issue subpoenas for Civil trials and hearings.  They also input the trials, rules, and all other hearings onto the Civil Court calendar.

The Civil Records Department is located on the 1st floor of the Clerk of Court’s Office.

The duties of the Civil Records Department are as follows:

  • Maintains and controls all Civil and Probate records and assists customers by pulling these records for viewing.
  • Makes copies of documents from the records for customers.
  • Indexing of all Civil suits filed in the 32nd Judicial District.
  • Files in all Sheriff’s returns and prepares docketing for costs to Bookkeeping department.
  • Printing of the Civil Court calendar and pulling records for all Civil hearings and trials.
  • Filing of all returns from the Sheriff’s Office into the respective records.
  • Filing and indexing of all transcripts filed in Civil suits.
  • Perform names searches for a fee.
